If we want to strip bottom paint that is built up and not easily sanded off, we use aircraft paint remover. This is much less labor intensive and doesn't turn you into a smurf. Then we sand the bottom with a dual-action sander to prep for the new paint. Pressure washing alone is not adequate to prep the surface. We use the Interlux Micron and have good success with it here in Florida. It will last a year in the water with monthly wipe down. We recommend 2 coats minimum, 3 at the waterline and knuckle will extend the life of your bottom job.
